Hi, I’m Bushra!

I'm a San Francisco-based Sr. Product Manager with an eye for products that translate social values into thoughtful experiences at scale, with an ongoing interest in “human formation.”

Broadly speaking, what I mean by “human formation”: experiences and interfaces whose encounter discovers, nurtures, and expands the range and depth of our capacity for loving the world in distinct, and plurally embracing ways. This includes protecting the tender bond between parents and children

More personally, I was born in Mumbai, India, to parents who grew up as best friends and inspired each other to become serious about doing their life’s work; a physician mother who founded a pro-bono clinic for children in the city, and a father who is currently a Pediatric surgeon in North Carolina, beloved to multiple generations of families

Within Mumbai, I spent my early years in Pali Village, a “Sesame Street” like neighborhood, where Catholic, Zoroastrian, Hindu, and Muslim families lived side by side, while I attended a Catholic elementary school. This experience of a modestly idyllic and extraordinarily generous childhood nurtured a personal inquiry and a longing for creating the good life for people from all belief systems

In undergrad, I studied English Literature, with a minor in Religious Studies (focusing on Virtual Religions) at UNC Chapel Hill before earning my J.D. at Elon University School of Law, a stone’s breath away from the epicenter of the Civil Rights Movement in Greensboro, North Carolina.

If I could keep only one book with me, it would be my copy of Neal Stephenson’s The Diamond Age: Or. A Young Lady’s Illustrated Primer.
