The birth of every human being is special. Each person deserves to live with care, kindness, and dignity, be it being born genetically different, or to unfortunate circumstances.

Coming together to care for our larger human family is still a very young and tender process, and although we have accomplished great feats in saving humans:


These are often precepts, but my parents embody it. I grew up seeing it as commonplace, but later noticed its extraordinary-ness.

My mother started a probono clinic for children in Mumbai called Bilal Clinic, named after my second brother. I grew up watching her minister orphans and children whose parents weren’t available to care for them.

My father is currently a Pediatric Surgeon with a neonatal speciality, in Greensboro, North Carolina, serving multiple generations of families and children
